Hi, I'm Heather! I'm a South OC mom who started OCParentGuide on Instagram in 2021. My mission is to help families explore the local area by giving them curated recommendations for playgrounds, restaurants, library programs, travel destinations, and Orange County events. I created this website in 2023 because I felt like Instagram was getting just a little too small to fully showcase the resources and guides I've worked hard to create. My hope is that it will soon be a favorite go-to resource for you!
As an adult I've always been adventurous when it comes to family life, but as a child I was more of a latch-key kid. My mom and dad worked incredibly hard to provide for us, sometimes juggling multiple jobs to support our family. We rarely had time to go to libraries, parks, or special events. As a mom of two kids now, I am very privileged to be able to give my children a very different kind of childhood than the one I had. My hope is that the content I produce will inspire all families to go out and spend time together, regardless of how busy they are or how much disposable income they have. We all deserve beautiful memories with our kids.
